The owners of Jake's brand grilling sauces sought to elevate their brand to a niche of premium grilling sauces. The company has its roots in Arkansas but sought to appeal to a more affluent sub-urban consumer. The existing packaging wasn't telling the rich historical story of Jake's origins. Tablelands was decided upon as the primary product brand. Product varietals and packaging tell a story of Jake's rich heritage rooted in the "tablelands" of Arkansas. To draw contrast on the market shelf, I opted for a mason jar format. This speaks to the "small batch" quality of the product while a more sophisticated packaging and language speaks to the discerning backyard gourmet, the products target audience.
Jake's is an actual brand in the marketplace. My rebrand of their grilling sauce product line was part of an advanced design workshop through the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle, Wa.
